UNIFI is a speculative access control system designed for the Beneath Nexus, a future where environmental collapse has forced humanity underground and infrastructure must manage limited space, resources, and movement.
Brand Guide
Logo
The UNIFI logo communicates surveillance through repeated eye motifs embedded within a rigid, symmetrical structure. The circular form and central triangle suggest balance, order, and systemic stability, reinforcing an illusion of harmony within the Beneath Nexus. This is disrupted by eyes that surround a central star, visually conveying the nefarious undertones of this gilded security system.
Palette
UNIFI’s color system balances quiet authority with an undercurrent of control. Cool neutrals establish stability and trust, masking the rigidity of the system, while red and yellow accents disrupt this calm with signals of warning and enforcement.
A muted pink is used sparingly as an accent, introducing a false sense of softness while its desaturated tone suggests flesh. Together, the palette creates tension between order and unease, reinforcing a dependable and invasive identity.

Typography
A dominant display type establishes authority with its bold and geometric form, the secondary type organizes and enforces logic with a sleek and technical appearance, and a neutral body promotes user compliance via highly-legible type. Together, these type choices embody the structure and control UNIFI has.

The key to UNIFI's security is the UniGraft, designed to feel intentionally invasive, occupying a significant portion of the wrist’s internal structure while maintaining a level of believability.
Its form reflects the UNIFI logo, embedding the system directly into the body. By integrating itself around critical tissues, the implant makes removal dangerous, creating a system that is effectively permanent.

These signs in these self-built mockups mimic present-day warning systems to feel recognizable and trustworthy, but within UNIFI’s branding they become tools of control. The repetition of eye imagery, combined with alert-driven color and commanding typography/copy, illustrates an environment where surveillance feels normalized and unavoidable.
